Christian Group Attacks UC Berkley for Promoting Evolution
“This [website] injures religious freedom in this country… The government is playing a role that is overtly hostile to some religious groups and denominations while favoring and giving greater recognition towards others.” His argument goes something like this:
You know, some religions (Scientology, Christian Science, the Amish) have a religious problem with pharmaceuticals and modern medicine. Since hospitals are taking government money to give out drugs they are taking a government sponsored stance that “is overtly hostile to some religious groups and denominations while favoring and giving greater recognition towards others” every time they write a prescription. We need to stop it! Someone, quick, call Brad Dacus! Dacus is also a bit pissed that the website addressed the role of religion and evolution in an effort to help teachers address it in their classroom. The website straight up admits:
Those bastards! This is part of Dacus’ smoking gun that the website is preferential to evolution - the recognition that not all religious people hold a fucknutty view of evolution. If word got out that evolutionists aren’t baby eating sodomites who are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Antichrist then people might start learning some science, and we sure as fuck can’t have that. If you want to send the folks behind the website encouraging email, you can pester their webmaster here. |

The Pacific Justice Institute, a conservative Christian activist group, is attacking UC Berkley (with a lawsuit!) over a website the University put up to promote the teaching of evolution. They allege that the website violates

We need to take a moment to point out to all people unsure about their beliefs that people like Brad Dacus are true christians and all those moderates who preach understanding and broad interpretations of religion are nothing but wishy washy frauds playing on people’s heartstrings hoping to gain a bit of power. When rational people are forced to choose between science, fraud and hate based superstition we as non believers will come out ahead most of the time.
